Michael Goopta, L.Ac, is a graduate of the Eastern School of Acupuncture,
an accredited school in New Jersey, where he was trained in a broad
spectrum of acupuncture modalities including Traditional Chinese Acupuncture,
Japanese Style Acupuncture, and Worsley Style Five Elements Acupuncture.
He has extensive experience in Sotai Ho, an ancient Japanese physiotherapy system,
which often complements his acupuncture treatment. He has also been trained in
Cupping, Gua Sha, Moxibustion, Tui Na (Chinese body works), laser therapy and other needle-free
treatments.
It was after 9/11 that Michael developed an interest in holistic medicine to
relieve people of the stress in their daily lives, as well as to fulfill a
need for service in his own life. He started volunteering in a hospice for
terminally ill patients and taking prerequisite courses in the evenings,
while maintaining his corporate job as an engineer. He joined the acupuncture school in Sept. 2004
and successfully graduated in July 2007.
Michael treats men, women, and children with a wide range of conditions
in his acupuncture practice in Boone, North Carolina. Michael also worked as
an honorary acupuncturist at the Community Care Clinic, 141 Health Center Drive,
